Why homing is important

Homing establishes a known starting position for the machine.

During homing, the LumenPnP moves the head to its X, Y, and Z zero position, located at the Front-left corner (X0, Y0) of the machine.

Before Homing

Before pressing the Home button, confirm the nozzles are level.

Stop If
Stop if both nozzles are not close to level. They do not have to be perfectly level. Homing while the nozzles are misaligned can cause the nozzle to collide with the machine frame or staging plate. Adjust the nozzles so they are level before continuing.
Pro Tip
Using the **Z Park** button guarantees that the nozzle tip moves to a safe height. It is encouraged to get into the habbit of doing this frequently while learning the controls. Keeping the nozzle at a safe height greatly reduces the chance of accidental crashes.

Perform the Homing Operation

  1. Locate the Home button in the Machine Controls panel.

  1. Click the yellow Home icon.
    • The machine will move the head to the Front-left corner (X0, Y0) of the machine.
    • Once the movement completes, the head will remain parked in this position.
